Mmmm, nature’s Gatorade. You
west coasters wouldn’t know anything about this; and while on the topic, I made some ridiculous pancakes tonight for Dinner II. I’
ve been working on this recipe since PC this summer, and tonight we hit the jackpot. These things put the cake in pancake-- they are like strait candy—for sure not your
pre-race meal. The best part is I
didn’t burn off the calories in today’s training. It can be hard to maintain weight—let alone gain anything – while putting in monster base hours everyday, so these rest periods are like a free for all: double servings of carrots, and extra bowls of cereal, oh my! The New Girl is sitting on the stand downstairs just a few steps away from being ride ready; just waiting on a set of hoops from
NoTubes and she’ll be
workin-it. Here’s hoping the white stuff melts away before then! Things are going to be eye opening if we have to transition from slushy slogging in New England forests to hard-as-rock, rip-roaring single track in AZ next month for the
NORBA kick off. That stuff is all pretty mellow thought, so no extraordinary handling skills are needed. The only thing that makes it technical is the high speeds, requiring fighter pilot reflexes, and I’
ve been watching Top Gun on the trainer regularly enough to feel confident in my do-or-die decision making. Going anaerobic tomorrow, and I feel the need- the need, for speed!
