im leaving, on a jet plane...

Its that time of year again. The Mountain bike season is finely nearing its end, and to wish it fair well, I'll be racing at Mammoth, Mt. California this next week. The national championships were held here last year as well, so it will be smooth sailing, having already learned the in's and out's of the area.. ( the best Italian place in town, the only burrito within 15 miles of the mountain, which grocery stores carry slingshot (by the way Jon, that was a really bad idea), and of course, the nearest mailbox to the hotel) the race it self is sure to be a good time. 10,000 ft. Elevation isn't going to help my cause. But if nothing else, the close to freezing tempetures on the mountain will. The uglier the conditions, the more DNF's, the better for me. ill keep you updated with some race reports as the week progresses. I fly into San Francisco this morning, and am there for the first and last few nights of my trip. ( staying with my sister Haley) if nothing else gos right, riding across the Golden Gate bridge will surly make me smile. ( well, that and Cherry Jolly Ranchers*) im not looking forward to a 6 hour flight, but then again, who is? Activity's to pass the time:

--"Top Gun". Always a good movie during a flight, as it makes my imitations of a fighter pilot that much more realistic. ( yes, I will be wearing my aviators during the viewing of the film, and no, I don't care if they are staring at me)

--writing. Letters. probly more than one.

--Reading ( ""If you want to look at my feet, say so," said the young man. "But don't be a God-damned sneak about it." -A Perfect Day for Bananafish) ( I may or may not have started reading it online last night) ( it, being Nine Stories, by J. D. Salinger)
