As the surface breaks reflections fade

Looks like Mr. 24 packed up his weather and shipped it East for the week. Walked out this morning to a negative fifteen degree wind chill and walked right back inside. It took another three layers to get me out running and even then I don’t think my body temperature went above freezing. It goes without saying I ended up on the trainer for another painful couple of hours. At least there were a few intervals to help pass the time. The efforts themselves seem to stop time in its place, but the recovery blocks go by twice as fast to make things fair. Kind of. It’s been a long time since I went this red without a number on my back. It’s easier to pull off outside, but there’s something empowering about reading quadruple digits on the power meter than can make doing these things on the computrainer fun sometimes (like once a year sometimes). Things are looking hopeful as the week goes on; above freezing at least. It would be nice not to have to race in mittens and ski goggles this weekend…
