PC, UT, NORBA NMBS XC/STXC #4

...And other acronyms. Like, I wish I had a SCUBA tank to aid in this lack of O2. The Park City NORBA went down this weekend. I met my goals of a) being able to go out and race the full thing at threshold. Unlike VT, where I was still suffering to make it at a steady pace. 4 weeks since contracting lyme, and I think I'm pretty close to returning to where I was. Even more so now that I've Been living and training here at altitude. Goal b) was to move into the lead in the overall NORBA series. Check. I beat the only other people there who had made the east coast swing, so I was able to overtake them for now. We'll see how the next two play out... Check out Kaboosh on the far right. He had to hold his own umbrella at the start... Where's Eric when you need him. JHK rode away from the field on the start climb and was gone al day. Treebon went with him for a bit, but paid for it and fell to 5th. JB and Geoff battled it out for 2nd the rest of the day, with Kboom just taking it on the line by a nobbie. ( or so the officials say... ) AC rounded out the top five in 4th place.JB was pissed they gave the sprint to Geoff. next time, look ahead and just drill it to the line. None of that checking behind you crap. Martini was throwing elbows to the 6 year olds in the Kids Cup.Overall, TREK VW had the best weekend of all, putting 5 in the top 20. Rad Ross was sitting second in pursuit of JHK for a while but blew towards the end. Still, those regional riders stepped up big.Chloe had a awesome weekend. She had a killer start in the STXC and was riding top five for the first half, but faded a bit towards the end. I can't believe she's just one year out of juniors. Five years from now... Damn. Nw England didn't have a good weekend at all in the junior field. Ethan went out way to hard for a NORBA at altitude and blew to shreds. Greg never really found his legs either and ended up in the late teens. Kirk put together a decent showing in the XC and ST, but still not even close to what he could be doing if he was over this illness he picked up.lastly, my favorite cyclingnews.com direst got it done in the STXC Saturday. Those mechanics are so fast.
