Peace
I'm out of here.
Fly out manyana for Park City. I'll be saying goodbye to the east coast for the next 2 months. ( only to be welcomed back by the best the east has to offer in the ADX ) Lugging around 2 bikes and an un-fair share of baggage is going to be awsome... My plane dosen't leave untill 4.30 pm, so naturaly, i havn't started packing.
I had one of the best mountain bike rides of the year Saturday. the day was dark and rainy and the air was swamp gasy. I started in a short kit, wind layer and arm warmers, but 15 minutes in the woods, i might as well have been standing in the shower. evrything was drenched. wanting to cover evry area possible before i leave, i found myself exploring deep into new teritory. i found myself on small footpaths in the foothills, only open enough for something half my width and a quarter my height. the weight of the water had pulled the tree canopy down into my path. The only way i knew i was on track was to ocationaly stop, get under the leaves, and check for the half foot wide streach of dirt and rock that had been stoped down to hardly a parting in the bush. By days end i had covered evry sector of the BH resercation. from Burma Road to Rattlesnake Rocks. It wont be enough to hold my cravings untill Aug. but it will at least leave me with good memorie to think of as i long for home dirt.
Having to pack and all in the A.M., I'm off to bed. morning will bring a long day of shlep and sleep, listen and read, folowed hopfully by a warm welcoming in a forien land.
