Life At The Races
So many people think this bike racing stuff is all about whole weat pasta and organic olive oil. well, that is just not true. i am sick and tired of bike racing getting this goodie tooshoe, all about health and fitness, just all around bad reputation. the truth is, are diet is very specific to what we do. what we put in our bodys is much like the gas you put in your car. you wouldnt fule your BMW with french fry oil would you? the stesses of our sport, mean that we only get by on the most powerful and adreniline promoting food sources on the market...
a good meal starts with a harty appatiser. we generaly look for something cold, to help bring down our body tempetures, along with something easy to digest.
Evryone knows breakfast is the most important meal of the day. a few hearty bowls of cerial is how champions start there day.
the time between breakfast and lunch isn't for sitting around. its a chance to pack in a few more carbs right before that hard ride. nothing gets your legs redy to pump like a few spoons fulls of this stuff.
and no self respecting cyclist would be caught dead with a spoon full of naked frosting. only peter pan can make it go down smooth.
and by spoon, i mean oreo of course.
hydration is equaly as important as the solid fules. the higher the amount of corn syrup to cafeen ratio, the better the effects.
nothing to wash down a cold coke like a red bull. cyclists need wiiiiings.
all this time at the kitchen table would be a waste witho9ut some good reading materal.
and what better way to end a day at the races, then with a nice. cold. beer... you know how i roll.
time for a pre ride and some lunch. im out.
