The Comedy Is That It's Serious

Thursdays rock during cross season. There's always at least 3 hours of something, yet it gets marked off as a recovery day! For one day each week the laws of physiology go on the back burner. Today I put a new spin on McCormick's 5R workout. Usually entailing quick, 5 minute efforts of 1 min ride/1 run/1 ride/ 1 run/etc. For today, seeing as how the MTB shoes still haven't shown up, I went for and extended 5R. 30 min run/30 min ride/ 30min run/etc. The first few minutes of each felt a little mash potato-y in my legs, but once things settled in, it ended up being a really fun set of efforts. Especially for such a rainy day.if I may say, my transition times are lightning fast.running in road shoes on a wet day would have brought no smiles.the last bits and pieces are in and accounted for in the cross world. It'll be up ad running just in the nick of time for Sundays race.to help the adjustment from MTB to cross go a little smoother, I've been tearing things up on the S.S. lately. You want twitchy, this thing gives you twitchy. I wonder what Wells and Sager are up too...
