First things first.
Timo Halliday pierced his ears. Now, I'm not saying he's the skinniest red head over 6"4' who watches BET with his lunch crew; because he's already said that. It would just be redundant. T Brown pulled off the ear rings for years, so not all hope is lost for Tim. But then,
T Brown went to the Olympics and won a masters cross' national championship on a pink single speed with mustache bars and a bell. Some changes in the schedule for this weekend. The race in VT is a no go, as is the race in Utica. The drives are long and the scheduling just didn't come together. Instead, I'll be making a trip back to Farmington, CT for the second to last root 66 MTB race of the year. It's a fast course composed of wide XC ski trails with a few smooth twists and turns of nicely burmed single track. Because of the conditions, combined with a presumed race time of around an hour twenty, I'll be racing this one on the 'Cross bike. It should serve as a good opportunity to continue the rise I handling skills, race fitness, and overall economy on the new set up. Good cornering/descending work, good opportunity to work on some running, a rare chance to see some friends from Gorham, and, at least, an opportunity to make even the single speeders look like sallies.
