Release Your Inhibitions

On the seventh day, before God rested, he created Bag Balm. And it was good. Really good. Two-a-days started yesterday with a fun MTB session in the a.m. and Tuesday Night Worlds in the p.m. Worlds is surly my favorite roadie ride, hands down. (editors note: Can I still call it a road ride despite the fact that I ride my MTB?) After showing up early and finding no one in the lot I was worried everyone had punked out with the cold weather moving in. But, sure enough the hooligans rolled in one by one to form a solid twenty something group. Turned out to be a more mellow pace then normal, but still a good end to a long day in the shammy. (see: thank god for Bag Balm.) The only real split happened up the long-ish gradual drag about mid way. As usual, there I was sitting in a group with three guys under 5'2". I pleaded for them to unzip their jerseys and sit up a bit, but I just got the same "You're just that strong" comments as always. Today was impressive by Massachusetts' standards. It's not easy to rack up 8,000 feet of climbing when you live at 208 ft. and the highest point within fifty miles is 668 ft. Let us just say I know the access climb to the ski area better than the back of my hand. I've got to be going on one thousand repeats by now, and in know way am I sick of that road. That thing is love for life. Half way into my ride I blew a spoke on the MTB and had to go back and get the 'cross bike to finish the day. The guys who had been doing the climb with me almost ran off the road on the way down trying to figure out how my green mountain bike became an orange cyclocross bike over the course of one climb. It's nice to live across the street.

Man, you cannot spell. Too bad I couldn't have come to the ride...would have been the second tallest one
