Daddy's got a new 45
These past few days have gone pretty close to perfect on the bike side of things. Despite a slow leaking tire to end yesterdays ride, and a brief stint with the Ringley Brothers on Tuesday, things have really been coming together. Sometimes it takes a glimps into the world of relatively unstructured training to really apreshiate the benefits and simplicity to a well thought out and purposeful structured plan. When you know what it takes to get the most out of your training, don't settle for anything else. Doing so revokes your rights to ever bitch about anything on the bike.
I did get to spend some good off the bike time with Wink and his baby sitter Monday night. Blake really takes this nany stuff seriously. Stopping at nothing to make sure winks every need is met.
personally, I think he deserves a raise.
got word that Kirk was in town for a few days. He and his monster van spent a couple days here while waiting for his dad and sister to finish a backpacking trip somewhere out in the mountains. It was good to have the company for a few days, and even more important, a ride to the grocery store. After a few days on pancakes and pasta with nothing but barbecue sauce to wash it down, it was nice to get some verity back into the day.
we had a good MTB ride around PC on Wednesday. It was nice to have a chance to catch up on what hes been up too. He and I grew up racing eachother on the dirt every weekend back in New England. We battled it out from beginner to sport to now. Without those long seasons of close competition, it's unlikely any of us would be out compeating like we are today.
He is however, a complete spazz when it comes to teater totters.
then again, we both had ice packs on by the end of the day. Consider the spaz-ness mutual.
